On October 3, 2025, CMC Political Leader Musa Bility broke ground for the construction of the Jor bridge in Gbarnga. He estimated the cost of the bridge at about USD $500,000.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, the Ministry of Public Works issued a suspension notice to Musa Bility for bypassing legal procedures in the construction. According to Public Works, Bility violated statutory procedures and lacked official permission from its office.
The suspension notice has been adequate, leading to a halt in the construction of the bridge.
However, on November 20, 2025, a letter dated October 19, 2025, surfaced online, purportedly from the office of the Minister of Public Works, Mr Roland Layfette Giddings, approving the complete construction of the bridge. The letter went viral, with blogs and news outlets posting it. Reports can be found here, here, and here.

During this viral trend, a former Journalist, Mr Moses Bailey, took to Facebook to question the authenticity of the letter.
He said, “The Way I See It… This letter doesn’t look authentic to me. I may be wrong. The date of the letter is October 19, 2025. We are in November. Is that a mistake? We also can’t see the second page that has the signature of the signing authority. Hmmm”
Other social media users agreed with Bailey’s doubts, while others believed the letter was authentic.
