DUBAWA carried out this verification to set the record straight.

Verification

DUBAWA conducted a keyword search to confirm the veracity of the X user’s assertion. The results led us to credible media outlets reporting that the revoked visa involved both Nigerians and nationals from other countries.

On Nov. 7, 2025, Vanguard reported that the United States Department of State had revoked the visas of over 80,000 individuals as part of a sweeping immigration enforcement initiative under former President Donald Trump’s administration. The individuals affected include both Nigerians and foreign nationals from other countries.

Reuters, an international news agency, also confirmed that the visa will be available to both Nigerians and citizens of other countries. It also mentioned that the revocations were tied to offences ranging from driving under the influence to assault and theft.

Other reputable media outlets also reported similar developments as seen here, here, and here.

Conclusion

DUBAWA’s investigation reveals that the revocations involved Nigerians and other nationals. So the claim is misleading.
