Jamiu Folarin, a research fellow of DUBAWA<\/a>, the fact-checking project of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID<\/a>), has arrived in the United States for the 2022 Solutions Journalism Summit<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit will be held between 5th and 8th May in Utah, US. Mr Folarin\u2019s attendance is sponsored by the Solutions Journalism Network (SJN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an email announcing his selection, SJN executives described Mr Folarin\u2019s solutions journalism works as \u2018fabulous.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are thrilled to let you know that you have been selected to receive a scholarship to the summit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We heard fabulous things about your work with the educator community in southwest Nigeria through the SoJo Africa Fellowship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We admire your dedication and enthusiasm to solutions journalism in your work and look forward to meeting you in person,\u201d the email reads in part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Executive Director of CJID, Dapo Olorunyomi, In congratulating Mr Jamiu expressed confidence that the fellowship will enhance his expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Believing that Jamiu is in good stead to benefit from the additional academic and professional aspects of solutions journalism among 70 journalists with promise for high-level output in the profession and convinced that our centre will benefit immensely from his exposure to international journalists, our organisation is pleased to assure you that it will also support Jamiu’s attendance at the 2022 Solutions Journalism Summit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the summit, Mr Jamiu will host one of the 10 breakout sessions titled, \u201cWhat collaborative strategies will enable the solutions journalism community to sustain and scale up known impact?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
