The game is on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The post generated mixed reactions in public, culminating in over five hundred comments and two hundred emoji on Facebook.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like Sekou, another Facebook user <a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/teliaurey.peeking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Samson Mosery<\/a> believed to be a supporter of Mr Alexander Cummings,<a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/teliaurey.peeking\/posts\/pfbid02Tj1yvj9ZQasuuaLw4QfTPqnsfQNkvog5kwMctHSJL5aWnVHsmg8h5PqfModUhhwKl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> wrote that the news of Mr Boakai stepping down was confirmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/moosh.jayjay.10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Estrada Duke Jayajy<\/a> posted a picture of Ghana\u2019s sitting president Akufo-Addo congratulating JNB on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NAkufoAddo?t=oforD1Vc14dN1w5AbgmBUA&amp;s=03\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Twitter<\/a> about his supposed resignation from politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amid the rounds of his resignation from politics and subsequent support for Mr Cummings of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC), <a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064876329764\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joseph Boakai,<\/a> in response, debunked the claim while describing the screenshot as \u2018fake.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I\u2019ve seen a screenshot of a post circulating on social media from a fake Joseph Nyuma Boakai page that I am not contesting for the presidency in October 2023. After carefully examining the page containing the controversial tweet, DUBAWA observed that the blue tick had been used as a verified account for the president.
