What your options upon this?&#8221; she tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">As of April 3, 2023, the tweet had attracted over 400 comments, 300 retweets and 300 likes, with a view of over 34,000 Twitter users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">A Twitter user, Obidient ZADDICHUKWU <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/officialSugay77\/status\/1640626024084824065?t=RlorHyWBF7KKTg3xrJvN4g&amp;s=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(@offucialsuggay7)<\/a>, however, disagreed with the narrative. He attached to his comment a video said to be the original video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Original video!! This is why I don&#8217;t believe anything I see on this app,&#8221; he commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">King Marvel (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marvelnsa\/status\/1640342467881869312?t=2yktO0UbTt7S8G5jpqe9Cg&amp;s=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">@marvelnsa<\/a>) also disagreed with the context attached to the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Fake video to steer up debate,&#8221; he tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim because it is a human rights issue, it is viral, and the context of the video has been questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">DUBAWA ran the video through InVID, a video verification tool that helps validate videos by breaking them down into keyframes. Invid provided some keyframes, and a reverse image search revealed a similar picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This picture was from a video shared by some Nigerian blogs, including <a href=\"https:\/\/naijablog.ng\/2021\/11\/15\/young-man-tired-to-pillar-flogged-in-igbo-community-for-being-a-drug-dealer-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Naija Blog<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/newsnaira.net\/153320\/youths-flogged-in-imo-for-taking-mkpuru-mmiri-drugs-photos\/amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">News<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/newsnaira.net\/153320\/youths-flogged-in-imo-for-taking-mkpuru-mmiri-drugs-photos\/amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Naira<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naijanews.com\/2021\/11\/11\/youths-flogged-mercilessly-for-taking-mkpuru-mmiri-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Naija News<\/a> in 2021, with an entirely different narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The post from News Naira, specifically mentioned the type of drug being traded in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Youths Flogged In Imo For Taking \u2018Mkpuru Mmiri\u2019 Drugs (Photos),&#8221; the post reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is &#8216;Mkupuru Mmiri&#8217;?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Punch Newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/amp\/s\/punchng.com\/mkpuru-mmiri-what-you-should-know-about-hard-substance-popular-among-south-east-youths\/%3famp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revealed<\/a> in an article that &#8216;Mkupuru Mmiri&#8217; is also known as Methamphetamine in medical terms.
