An example is a comment by Abraham (@Abraham) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Abrahalm\/status\/1672142152917217280\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> which described President Ruto as a good liar.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the relevance of climate change and varying comments on the subject, DUBAWA fact-checked the claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">We checked with available data to establish the energy sources through which Kenya currently generates its electricity and found a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaid.gov\/powerafrica\/kenya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2019 USAID publication<\/a> which says the country develops its power from hydro, geothermal, thermal, wind, solar and biomass.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Another publication <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trade.gov\/country-commercial-guides\/kenya-energy-electrical-power-systems#:~:text=Current%20Energy%20Mix%3A%20Kenya&#039;s%20energy,thermal%2C%20biomass%2C%20and%20imports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> by the International Trade Administration says as of 2021, Kenya&#8217;s energy mix was predominantly green, and the component stood at 81% of the total mix.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">As we checked further, we found that the green energy component of Kenya&#8217;s total energy grid mix as of June 2022 was an average of 90.5 per cent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kplc.co.ke\/img\/full\/KPLC%20ANNUAL%20REPORT%202021-2022%20FOR%20WEB.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the annual report of KENYA POWER<\/a>. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kplc.co.ke\/content\/item\/14\/about-kenya-power\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">company<\/a> owns and operates most of the country&#8217;s electricity transmission and distribution system).
