Eggs are content of the hard-shelled reproductive body produced by birds. While the primary role of the egg is to reproduce the species, most eggs laid by domestic fowl, except those specifically set aside for hatching, are not fertilised but sold mainly for human consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequent price increases<\/a> have made eggs supposedly the cheapest source of protein in Nigeria. The prices have continued to rise beyond the reach of average households.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this development, Rana Craft on Facebook posted a video<\/a> on how eggs can be planted using Guava tree, aloe vera, and garden soil.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the four-minute video, a man is seen cutting a branch of guava leaves and then rubbing it with aloe vera. He then breaks raw eggs into a plate, mixing them with rooting hormones<\/a> and soft drinks to help the egg grow well. He says to wait for a month to get the desired results.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video, which has now gone viral, garnered 6,200 likes, 1,000 comments, and 42,500 views as of August 17, 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The virality of the post and the economic implication made DUBAWA investigate this post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We conducted a forensic analysis of the image using Forensically to check for manipulation. The image quality and error analysis result run on the picture shows that the picture has been altered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
