Shortly after Hilda Baci<\/a> was recognised by the Guinness World Records<\/a> (GWR) for the longest cooking time by an individual, her achievement ignited the ambition of fellow Nigerians<\/a>, who either wanted to surpass her record or innovate theirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adeyeye Adeola made a recent one among these attempts at the Ile-Oluji area of Ondo State. Tagged \u201cDeocookathon,\u201d she embarked on a 150-hour marathon cooking on June 30, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some social media users<\/a> perceived her efforts as envious of Chef Baci’s, she received support from the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa, alongside other lawmakers from the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate her feat, Campus Catch Nigeria<\/a>, a Facebook blog, announced<\/a> that Chef Adeola has \u201cfinally dethroned\u201d Hilda Baci by surpassing her cooking time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe now has the world record for the longest cooking time by an individual,\u201d the announcement partly reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The credibility of this claim, which has garnered over 2,000 likes, remained unchallenged by fellow Facebook users. Conversely, it has received a wide array of congratulatory comments. Therefore, DUBAWA decided to verify the truthfulness of the information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guinness World Records (GWR) is a global publication released each year. It compiles records of outstanding human accomplishments and remarkable natural phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the GWR, a world record is usually \u201cthe best global and most important performance ever recorded and officially verified in a specific skill, sport, or other activity.\u201d These are collated and published by the book Guinness World Records or other world records organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like others<\/a>, the attempt of Ms Adeola was reported by newspapers like Punch<\/a>, DailyPost<\/a> and Tribune Online<\/a>. Despite maintaining that the GWR approved her challenge, there has since been no report about her recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
