The death of 27-year-old Ilerioluwa Aloba<\/a>, a Nigerian artiste recognised as Mohbad, became a social media sensation on Sept. 12, 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, various reports examining the musician’s cause of death began circulating online. Numerous fans of the singer expressed their grief through protests on social media, with some speculating that his music industry colleagues<\/a> played a role in his untimely demise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not long ago, some Facebook blogs<\/a> began to post that Mr Aloba is still alive. In a one-minute clip<\/a> attached to this claim, the artiste alighted from a vehicle wearing a black hoodie and green Jacket with a pair of shades. With the protection of some military personnel, he quickly walked amidst a crowd chanting \u201cImole, Imole!\u201d as he was also fondly called.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consequently, Facebook users like Kingsley Emecheta<\/a> and Chiemerie Genevieve<\/a> were confused, asking, \u201cIs this true?\u201d in the comment section. This claim has since appeared here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a>, and here<\/a>. DUBAWA intervened with this fact-check to set the records straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, we visited Mr Aloba\u2019s verified Instagram account and found a Sept. 12, 2023 post<\/a> where his management made his death public. We found that credible news platforms have reported the incident, with other stories evolving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Vanguard, Mohbad was buried<\/a> at Ikorodu, Lagos State, a day after his death. However, as part of an ongoing investigation into his mysterious death, the Lagos State Police Command exhumed<\/a> his body on Sept. 21, 2023. Similarly, there is footage of his burial<\/a> and exhumation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only that, Perez Medcare Hospital<\/a>, the health facility where he allegedly died, has also released a statement<\/a> that the singer was brought in dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
