CLAIM: @McGingerIbeneme, an account on X (formerly Twitter), in now-deleted footage, <\/strong>posted<\/strong><\/a> a video marked with the logo and branding of TVC News indicating that the governorship candidate of the Peoples\u2019 Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo state, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has withdrawn from the race and asked his supporters to vote for the candidate of All Progressives Congress, Hope Uzodinma.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FINDING:\u00a0 An analysis of the video reveals that the footage has been manipulated. The audio in the video doesn’t match the lip movements of the individuals speaking \u2013a common feature in deepfake videos. TVC News has also <\/strong>denied<\/strong><\/a> broadcasting the video and clarified that it is fake. Checks show that Mr Anyanwu <\/strong>debunked<\/strong><\/a> the footage via his verified <\/strong>Facebook Profile<\/strong><\/a> and clarified that he is \u201cfully still in the race\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n
