Amidst these recent city floods, an X user @unrulyking00<\/a> tweeted a video showing a vehicle covered with water under a bridge, claiming it happened in Accra. The caption reads, \u201cSomewhere in Accra.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 23-second video, posted on July 3, has amassed over 12,000 views, 192 likes, 55 reposts, eight quotes, and six bookmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many users in the comment section questioned the accuracy of the claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe know Accra very well, but I don’t know this place,\u201d@Vonkwemekyere<\/a> commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another user, @eiJayJay<\/a>, said, \u201cThis is not Accra.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA subjected the video’s keyframes to a Google Reverse Image Search. The result shows a similar video posted on YouTube by Galaxy Television<\/a> on Thursday, Jul. 4, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video identifies the flood-affected areas, such as the Iyana Oworo and Olopo Meji, which led to the Third Mainland Bridge. Further checks reveal that the flood caused gridlocks, according to the Nigerian Tribune<\/a> and The Guardian<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sahara Reporters<\/a> television also reported the flooding that same day via a YouTube video. The caption reads, \u201cFloods take over Lagos roads after early morning rain.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
