Differing thoughts surround the nationwide protest calling on the Bola Tinubu-led administration to ease living standards for Nigerians. While many Nigerian youths fully support the protest, some pro-government factions oppose it and urge Nigerians to trust the administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An X user, Pastor Who (@pastormarvy), claimed<\/a> on Aug. 1, 2024, that no protest is ongoing at Lekki Toll Gate, Freedom Park and Peace Park in Lagos state. He said the apathy indicate the people’s trust in the Tinubu-led reforms and the South West’s no-violence commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA contacted Damilola Oluwafemi, a journalist with Business Day newspaper present at Ojota, who revealed that the claim is false. He provided images<\/a> he took at the parks to validate his responses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, we found footage of police presence and protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on credible media platforms covering the location, like Channels Television<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
