Evidence from similar videos posted on Facebook shows that the video has been online since September 2024, when the Northerners massively protested President Tinubu\u2019s unfavourable government policies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Full Text<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2023\/5\/31\/nigeria-fuel-subsidy-cut-spiralling-costs-all-you-need-to-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fuel subsidy was removed<\/a> in May 2023, Nigeria has experienced depleting economic stability and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanguardngr.com\/2024\/09\/fuel-pump-price-increase-will-hike-food-prices-again-commuters-traders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surge in the prices of goods and services<\/a>, spelling untold hardship for many Nigerians.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100067938708587\/videos\/1220806372331009\/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page called &#8220;Nigeria Military Gallery&#8221; shared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100067938708587\/videos\/1220806372331009\/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> allegedly showing ongoing protests in the North and claimed the incident was a recent outrage against President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the video, a crowd surrounds a billboard, tearing down images of President Tinubu and his wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAngry Nigerians from Northern Nigeria pulled down Bola Ahmed Tinubu&#8217;s 2027 campaign billboard (and) vowed to vote against Bola Tinubu come 2027. This is totally unacceptable,\u201d the video caption reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2024, the 19-second video clip has attracted about 75 likes, 32 comments, and nine reposts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DUBAWA observed that many Facebook users believed the video was recent and supported the action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Albert Iborigi said, \u201cLet them still vote Muslim Muslim on (the) next election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another user, Paul, wrote, \u201cI think it&#8217;s their right, and they have every right to do what is not against the law of the land.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Sunday Fwah commented, \u201cUna never see anything. Moreover, on Nov. 2, 2024, some blogs published similar reports (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osundefender.com\/angry-northern-youths-destroy-tinubus-campaign-billboard-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100063923622404\/posts\/pfbid0KBE9YbtJM6jVkgkUJqtLPqqJL7gBS5KPFvTPHigZpBovu2uadrU7oLqLUCi2LxU6l\/?app=fbl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>) of Northerners protesting against President Tinubu and linked it to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.channelstv.com\/2024\/10\/28\/blackout-northern-govs-ask-fg-to-urgently-address-power-outage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent blackout<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecable.ng\/just-in-tax-reform-bills-will-not-be-withdrawn-from-national-assembly-says-tinubu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tax reform bill<\/a> passed to the House of Assembly for consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the recent blackout and the rejection of the tax reform bill, DUBAWA decided to verify whether the protest happened recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DUBAWA carried out a Google Reverse Image Search on some screenshots of the video, and the results show that the video has been online since Sept. 2024.
