However, Mr Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress stalwart, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-africa-64760226\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polled 37 per cent <\/a>of the total votes cast to emerge Nigeria\u2019s 16th president, ahead of Labour Party\u2019s Obi, who had garnered only 25 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, since the election&#8217;s outcome, supporters of the two-time former state governors have pitted themselves against each other and tried to portray the rival candidate&#8217;s political incompetence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An X user, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/adabanpegede\/status\/1858943497933648303?t=CvVy6LpWKyys0RJvXJXcaQ&amp;s=19\">@adabanpegede<\/a>, on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/adabanpegede\/status\/1858943497933648303?t=CvVy6LpWKyys0RJvXJXcaQ&amp;s=19\">shared a picture<\/a> showing President Tinubu and Mr Obi shaking hands over a certificate the latter is holding.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attached to the shared images was the Yoruba phrase \u201cAkinyeye na fe joye, ni ile yi ko ni ile biyafraud ni,\u201d meaning, \u201cA worthless person wants to become a leader. Not in this land. It\u2019s only possible where in Biyafraud.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, the post has attracted about 207 views, 10 likes and three comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the opposing political relationship between the two politicians and to curb disinformation, DUBAWA decided to verify the claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verification&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DUBAWA subjected the picture to a Google Reverse Image Search.
