One<\/a> of them is seeking to overturn birthright citizenship. Birthright citizenship, also called \u201cjus soli,\u201d is a governmental policy under which any child born within a country’s borders or territory is automatically granted citizenship in that country\u2014even if their parents are not citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like others, this order has been met without sharp criticism from Americans and non-Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just a day after the President\u2019s order, the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) reported<\/a> that 18 states in the U.S. sued the Trump administration over the executive order seeking to overturn citizenship by birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reacting to the news agency\u2019s Instagram publication, Raymond020954<\/a>, an Instagram user urged people to stop the criticism because \u201cno country in the world has birthright citizenship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
