The clock is ticking for the Nimba County senatorial by-election. Activities leading to the showdown on April 22 have kicked off, including the nomination of candidates by political parties, alliances, coalitions, and independent individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this ended, the National Elections Commission (NEC), the country\u2019s electoral authority, issued the candidates’ nomination printouts to nominated individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel Kogar, a Nimba District 5 lawmaker, was among those who received the candidate nomination printout from the NEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following his receipt of the printout, a document<\/a> surfaced online, which many believe to be the Nimba County lawmaker’s candidate nomination printout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA contacted the National Elections Commission (NEC) through its communication office to verify the authenticity of the viral document. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the Communications Director, Prince Dunbar<\/a>, said the viral document is from the NEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dunbar said some unfolding circumstances at the NEC when Kogar went to register caused his printout not to be stamped by the commission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can clarify and tell you, yes, that document came from us,\u201d the communications director said. \u201cWe had a technical problem when he came to register.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However,  he said that Kogar\u2019s printout is legal and qualifies him to be placed on the provisional list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
