On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the Facebook<\/a> page \u201cPolitical Affairs Int<\/a>\u201d shared a 52-second video showing Israel\u2019s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promising to liberate Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIsrael\u2019s Prime Minister Netanyahu Promises To Liberate Africa, As Soon As He Finishes Dealing With Palestine, He Informed Ecowas And The Rest Of The World\u2026\u201d the video caption reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of Saturday, March 29, 2025, the clip had generated 1,400 views, 25 reactions, 13 comments, and four shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, other users posted similar videos across various social media platforms, as seen here<\/a>, here,<\/a> and here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA checked the comment section and noticed that users expressed restraint, rejecting the offer of liberation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One user, Abdullai Babatunde, rejecting the offer, wrote, \u201cWe Africans can never associate ourselves to the false and genocidal state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another user, Myke Onome<\/a>, queried, \u201cLiberate Africa, from whom? From America, your Father? Yesterday, it was Russia promising a free visa to Africans; today, it is Israel coming with another leg. Africa needs to check itself; something is honestly fishy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Bilyaminu Gudu<\/a> asserted, \u201cWe don’t need you in Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sceptical nature of the post and the individual involved led DUBAWA to verify the post’s credibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA conducted a Google Reverse Image Search on screenshots captured from the video but could not find any matching results after several attempts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We carried out a Google keyword search on excerpts of the prime minister’s statements. This led us to similar videos posted in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA came across a four-minute, 19-second YouTube<\/a> video posted by \u201cThe Times of Israel\u201d on July 4, 2016. In the video, Netanyahu discussed the situation with leaders of East African states at a summit. The summit\u2019s focus was Israel\u2019s intention to partner with African countries to secure the futures of all partnering countries from the savage system of medievalism.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the discussion, Netanyahu quoted Theodore Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, to buttress the logic behind the partnership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe founder of modern Zionism, the national movement of the Jewish people, was Theodore Herzl, and he said, after I liberate the Jewish people, I will go to Africa and liberate the black people\u2026\u201d Netanyahu quoted Herzl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quote is also the same expression that the Facebook claimant shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
