Our findings reveal that the road network is not from Abuja but from Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Full Text<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since becoming the minister of the FCT in 2023, Nyesom Wike, former governor of Rivers state, has embarked on <a href=\"https:\/\/blueprint.ng\/wike-what-visionary-leadership-has-done-to-abuja-in-2-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commissioning<\/a> several road projects in Abuja. In February 2025, the federal government <a href=\"https:\/\/dailytrust.com\/fg-approves-n159-5bn-for-road-projects-in-abuja\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">approved<\/a> N159.5 billion for five major projects to enhance road networks, transportation, and estate access across the FCT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With major road constructions ongoing across the FCT, an X user, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/abdullahayofel\/status\/1917647662779650183?t=OXjEgPbQsV2WdYFNVxW-_g&amp;s=19\">A. Ayofe<\/a>, shared a video on April 30, 2025, allegedly showing an Abuja road network. This was to showcase Mr Wike&#8217;s achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The post was captioned, \u201cAbuja road network is mad. If na Burkina Faso, this road they, Obidiot will be crying everywhere <em>(sic).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of May 4, 2025, the post has 186,000 views, 129 reposts, 894 likes, and 62 quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reacting to this post, Dr Tasbol Vet wrote, \u201cI lived in Abuja, still visited recently. We don&#8217;t even use blue colour signposts for direction, it&#8217;s usually green. However, Wike is doing a great job in terms of infrastructure. This video is just unnecessary to prove what exactly?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similarly, Jesse Owoh commented, \u201cLol, how the hell does anybody believe this is Abuja? I stay in Abuja. Please tell me which part of Abuja that is. Never seen that place in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also found the image shared by other X users <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Onsogbu\/status\/1917964202108477837?t=KhgZV43M7TV9M3RMF0L8GA&amp;s=08\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SamOnSolar\/status\/1917903205087793267?t=AzafAuG4_W1KQGtCF5K2KA&amp;s=08\">here<\/a>, and on Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bishop.onipe\/videos\/1102324398607455\/?app=fbl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given the claim\u2019s virality and comments questioning its veracity, DUBAWA decided to fact-check it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We took one of the video\u2019s keyframes and conducted an image search on <a href=\"https:\/\/yandex.com\/images\/touch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yandex<\/a>. We found a similar image on Piqsels (Pixels) with a caption in the Indonesian language, \u201cKanada, mississauga, 5986 bandara rd, jembatan layang, toronto, langit, struktur yang dibangun, Arsitektur.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Google translation of this caption reads, \u201cCanada, Mississauga, 5986 Airport Rd, Skyline, Toronto, Built Structure, Architecture,\u201d suggesting the road network is in Canada, close to an airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXciCS_V2fpy-tkJ6GQtPCpQQ-6G90idcDkaoScX7n1HtWVDUMF7ta0FvOsKtyYQhpYtwB07yp7pVVMBTo_UkH_XZfDgrGq9Dpl7BAiqycQYOnlAzp1MfjcvEWMgqPLeONZMfZcp5Q?key=uVaW_Ur_IHVyQ9a8bAXSpWVc\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Screenshot from the video Vs. Screenshot of a similar image on Piqsels (Pixels).<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also found a similar image on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallpaperflare.com\/canada-mississauga-5986-airport-rd-flyover-toronto-sky-wallpaper-eibwd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wallpaper Flare<\/a> with the caption, \u201cCanada, Mississauga, 5986 Airport Rd, flyover, Toronto, sky, HD wallpaper.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Google keyword search of the address location revealed that one of the high-rise buildings in the keyframe is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loopnet.com\/Listing\/5925-Airport-Rd-Mississauga-ON\/4434300\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airway Centre II<\/a>, a first-class office complex located directly across from Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada. I know this because of the two high-rises in the video.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The videos shared on X and Facebook allegedly showing a road network in Abuja are false.
