Claim: <\/strong>A Facebook user, Zainab Natural Remedy, reported that without an American passport, nobody will be able to buy food and drugs in the U.S. <\/p>\n\n\n

Verdict: <\/strong>False! According to U.S. importation laws, a valid passport is not required for citizens or non-citizens to purchase food and drugs while in the country. There is no evidence of a new regulation by President Trump requiring Americans and non-citizens to buy food and medicine with an American passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In President Donald Trump\u2019s second spell as U.S president, he has made key immigration changes, cracking down on illegal immigration in the U.S. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Trump’s immigration-related executive orders, including visa allocation, travel bans, and deportation, have become the centre of global discourse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January 2025, President Trump said in an  Executive Order<\/a> that illegal immigrants pose \u201csignificant threats to national security and public safety in the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump stated categorically in what he called \u201cProtecting the American People against Invasion\u201d that he was enforcing the immigration laws in the U.S to protect Americans from invasion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a popular Sierra Leonean blog, Zainab Natural Remedy<\/a>, reported a claim that without an American passport, nobody will be able to buy food and drugs in the U.S. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of the claim reads: \u201cTrump\u2019s latest regulation: Without an American passport, you will not be able to buy food and medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of June 16, 2025, the claim has garnered 2,200 likes, 384 comments, and 2,500 shares. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were mixed reactions to the claim, but most of the followers believed it while a few dismissed it as false. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA conducted a Google keyword search and found no evidence supporting the claim posted by Zainab Natural Remedy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researcher also reviewed all Executive Orders signed by President Trump on the Federal Register <\/a>since he assumed office for the second time, but found no evidence supporting the claim. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
