Despite the Economic Financial Crime Commission\u2019s (EFCC) ban on night raids<\/a>, anti-graft agency operatives continue conducting operations nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An X user (@Damiedamie35<\/a>) shared 43-second footage<\/a> claiming that the house of Nigerian skit maker Chukwuebuka Emmanuel, popularly known as Brain Jotter, had been raided by EFCC operatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video, which was shared on Thursday, July 3, 2025, shows a night scene with a voiceover lamenting the inhuman nature of the EFCC operatives. Additionally, the voice behind the shot explains how he escaped being captured by the EFCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When DUBAWA checked the engagement statistics, we noticed that the clip has generated over one million views, 1,800 likes, 1,805 reposts, 1,800 bookmarks, and 48 quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A review of the post’s comment section features both supporters and sceptics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know right from time, the guy is doing some illegal things,\u201d @Rotimi_jnr<\/a> wrote in support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another user, @Preciousomo22<\/a> said, \u201cLike nobody money clean oo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast, @Alfredtinom<\/a> asserted, “Fake news.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the personality and commission involved, DUBAWA decided to authenticate the video clip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA conducted a Google Reverse Image Search on the video but could not trace it to the original context. Instead, it led us to other claims shared across various social media platforms, as seen here<\/a>, here<\/a>, and here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, an extensive keyword search to confirm the raid by the EFCC led to no credible media outlets reporting, which would have been reported given the organisation involved in the claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unable to find a context behind the clip, we decided to contact Friday Omosola, an entertainment reporter with Premium Times. He said the outlet has not received such information. \u201cWe don’t have it yet,\u201d he noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, DUBAWA contacted Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, via calls and text messages. As of press time, he has not responded to any. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, we scoured the EFCC\u2019s official website,<\/a> Facebook<\/a>, and X<\/a> handles, but we found no information related to the claim. Then, we repeated the exact search on the skitmaker\u2019s official Facebook<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> handles and found no supporting information about the alleged development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
