The visual effect was meant to portray that the funeral was his.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of July 15, the post quickly went viral, garnering over 349,500 views, 174 comments, 354 shares, 862 likes, and 267 saves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video caused disbelief and speculation among users. One user (@Prince_hadex) said, \u201cAre you creating content, or are you for real?\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another user (@CubaTerra) commented: \u201cAre they up to something now that MNK is coming out?\u201d a reference to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who has been in detention since 2021.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Biafra leader\u2019s name has recently resurfaced due to ongoing court proceedings and calls for release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video\u2019s release timing (just after Buhari\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.premiumtimesng.com\/news\/headlines\/804830-exclusive-ex-president-buhari-is-ill-hospitalised-abroad.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> for treatment became public) is suspicious, so DUBAWA decided to verify the claim.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We conducted a Google Reverse Image Search on frames from the funeral video. We confirmed that the funeral procession was not Buhari&#8217;s but that of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/r\/1Jk4Annf1D\/?mibextid=wwXIfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda\u2019s mother<\/a>. We also found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.premiumtimesng.com\/promoted\/783128-kano-jigawa-governors-others-attend-funeral-of-late-safarau-mother-of-katsina-gov.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> reports that <a href=\"https:\/\/punchng.com\/tinubu-buhari-others-mourn-as-katsina-govs-mum-is-buried\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a> this burial happened in March 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further checks by DUBAWA revealed that the same video had earlier been posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@bahari2521?_t=ZM-8xp33yuuhmw&amp;_r=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a> by a user identified as (@bahari2521).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The newly created account had only four posts, all promoting the narrative that Buhari is dead.
