We searched the website using keywords from the statement, but found no relevant event where Putin made such a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DUBAWA confirmed that the Soviet Union, now Russia, provided technical and financial support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/businessday.ng\/business-economy\/article\/hobbled-by-corruption-ajaokuta-steel-mills-future-uncertain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ajaokuta Steel<\/a> project during the 1970s as part of Nigeria\u2019s industrialisation efforts.
