For weeks, there have been reports and discussions around Christian genocide<\/a> in Nigeria, particularly in the Northern part, which has ignited comments and discussions<\/a> among religious bodies in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to the outcry, United States (US) President Donald Trump condemned the act and threatened<\/a> to deploy the US military force to Nigeria to address the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amidst all this, a TikTok user, @Wakawakaplanet<\/a>, on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, shared a video of a building engulfed in flames and claimed it to be a church in Northern Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overlaid on the video is a caption that reads, \u201cAnother church burned down by Islamic Brotherhood in northern Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, the post has attracted over 283 likes, 34 comments, 47 reposts, and 37 bookmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video garnered a range of comments from other TikTok users. While some agreed with the post, others expressed doubt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A TikTok user, lufunomokhawal, commented,  \u201cThere is a Christian genocide taking place in Nigeria. Trump needs to intervene; terrible things are happening there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But what’s wrong with Muslims?” Kasila queried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asadi Ibn.Sina questioned, “Is this a church or a Mosque?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the conflicting reactions, the sensitivity of the issue, and the possibility of disinformation further causing harm, DUBAWA decided to verify the post\u2019s authenticity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA performed a Google Reverse Image Search on keyframes of the TikTok video, which led us to similar videos shared on Facebook here<\/a> and here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Facebook posts mention that the inferno happened at the Kwapong Nursing Training College in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More videos with a similar caption were shared on TikTok (here<\/a> and here<\/a>) and Instagram (here<\/a> and here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, we conducted a keyword search on the Kwapong Nursing College fire incident in Ghana. We found a report published by Modern Ghana<\/a> on Oct. 31, 2025, which reported the fire incident at the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Modern Ghana, fire broke out in some parts of the Kwapong Nursing Training College in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region, Gaha, forcing students to flee for their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other media outlets published a similar story in October 2025, as seen here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a>, and here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
