In recent weeks, there has been a public outcry<\/a> about an ongoing \u201cChristian genocide,\u201d with the federal government of Nigeria adjudged to be complicit. This drew global attention, with the United States President, Donald Trump, declaring Nigeria a \u201cCountry of particular concern<\/a>.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against this background, a Facebook user, Ochoms TV<\/a>, shared a Television Continental (TVC) video showing that Fulani Islamic terrorists have beheaded the Adamawa State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) chairman in Adamawa State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBreaking! Adamawa CAN chairman has been beheaded by Fulani Islamic Terrorists in Adamawa State, Nigeria,\u201d the Facebook user wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar claims were made on Facebook here<\/a> and here<\/a>, and here<\/a> on X.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, the post has garnered 19 likes, three comments, and 28 shares. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although a Facebook user pointed out that the Adamawa State police have debunked the assertion, some expressed dismay and sympathy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJihadist please! Divide Nigeria,\u201d Mark Davidson expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey refused to speak up as others are doing,\u201d Nwankwo Benjamin commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAdamawa police have debunked the news,\u201d Anyanjo Uchechukwu pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the sensitivity of the claim in light of recent conversations about Christian genocide in Nigeria, DUBAWA decided to verify the claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA conducted a keyword search about the decapitation of the Adamawa State CAN chairperson and TVC\u2019s broadcast about it. We have a similar TVC clip<\/a> to the one shared by the claimant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The clip, which was uploaded on YouTube back in 2020,  revealed that the Adamawa State CAN chairperson, Steven Manza, announced that Boko Haram had beheaded Lawan Andimi, the CAN chairperson in Michika local government, Adamawa State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBishop Steven Dami Manza explained that the terrorists who had earlier demanded a ransom of \u00a32 million, however, rejected an offer of N50 million and killed him,\u201d the report further detailed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, in light of recent claims asserting the Adamawa CAN chairperson was beheaded, The Guardian<\/a> reported that the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has debunked claims about the decapitation of the current CAN Chairman of Adamawa State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group\u2019s chairperson, Gabriel Shall, stated in a signed statement that the claims are \u201centirely false.\u201d He explained that no such tragedy has happened recently, although back in 2020, terrorists abducted and killed the CAN chairperson of the Michika local government council, Lawan Andimi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, The Nation<\/a> reported that the Adamawa police command and CAN have refuted the viral social media posts about the alleged decapitation of the CAN chairperson.
