Over the weeks, Donald Trump’s fierce response<\/a> to the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria has attracted varying reactions from social media users. While some Nigerians have shown support for him to send military troops to Nigeria to curb Islamic terrorism, some have equally challenged the United States for undermining Nigeria\u2019s territorial sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, an X page, @Citizenobs<\/a> shared a video showing the police force ushering foreigners out of the building premises. The narrator said they are evacuating the foreigners from the Benin Royal Museum.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The X user claimed that the Nigerian authorities were evacuating the foreigners from Nigeria due to an imminent US military intervention ordered by Donald Trump to address the massive killings of Christians in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The X post was captioned, \u201cTrump Intervention: White people are being evacuated from Benin Royal Museum, Edo state, Nigeria.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of Monday, Nov. 10, 2025,  the video has garnered over 160,000 views, 1,110 likes, 380 reposts, 256 bookmarks, and 40 quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar claims were shared on Facebook, as seen here<\/a> and here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the comment section, DUBAWA noticed a mixed reaction among users. While some comments supported the claim, others labeled it as false. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHumm, I\u2019m scared for Nigeria,\u201d @EmperorAutosLTD<\/a> wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another comment by @Chinosookeke1<\/a> reads, \u201cA few months from now, Wetin we will hear Boooom, kakakakakakaka.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStop spreading fake news,\u201d @Mrfact_tv<\/a> cautioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the claim\u2019s sensitivity, DUBAWA verified the video\u2019s context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA performed a Google Reverse Image Search on the clip, which led us to a similar version shared on Instagram<\/a> by Guardian Nigeria, a reputable media outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guardian Nigeria reported on Sunday, November 9, 2025, that distraught foreign investors quickly departed the Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA) when pandemonium broke out on the museum\u2019s premises. It further mentioned that the foreigners were mortified that the locals threatened their lives, especially when the latter begged them to return their artefacts and fund the museum.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Instagram video was captioned, \u201cChaos erupted at MOWAA headquarters as terrified investors fled, questioning why those once begged to return artefacts and fund the museum now face threats to their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Instagram user, edopride<\/a>, shared a similar version of the clip on Instagram and mentioned that due to the protest at the facility, policemen safely guided the guests at the exhibition out of the premises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA further conducted a keyword search to gather details about what transpired at the MOWAA museum in Edo State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BusinessDay<\/a> reported that protesters stormed the opening of the Museum of West African Art (MOWAA), disrupting the exhibition ceremony and forcing the evacuation of international guests and dignitaries.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protesters demanded that the institution be renamed the \u201cBenin Royal Museum.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Punch<\/a>, The Guardian<\/a>, and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)<\/a> also reported similar circumstances that led to the unexpected evacuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, we checked if there is any report of the evacuation of foreign nationals following Trump’s military threat to Nigeria, but found none to support the X user’s assertion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
