Liberia\u2019s President Joseph Boakai, during his third State of the Nation Address, claimed<\/a> that Liberia\u2019s Gross International Reserve increased from $475 million in 2024 to $576 million in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State of the Nation Address is in fulfilment of Article 58 of the Liberian Constitution, which requires the President to present an annual message on the State of the Republic, the condition of the economy, and the legislative agenda for the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Liberian leader made the claim on Monday, January 27, 2026, while addressing<\/a> the current state of the economy and the 2026 economic outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLiberia\u2019s external sector performed well in 2025. Gross international reserves increased from $475 million in 2024 to $576 million, surpassing the previous year by US$101 million. Also, net international reserves exceeded IMF targets, potentially reaching $280 million by December 2025, and exports grew over 31 per cent to about $2.1 billion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
