On Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, popular American Twitch streamer and internet personality Kai Cenat arrived<\/a> in Lagos, Nigeria. This is his second visit to the country, following his first in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His visit to Lagos State aimed to oversee projects and initiatives he plans to implement to support children and young people in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amidst all this, on Feb. 4, 2026, an X user @DamiForeign<\/a> shared a video (archived here<\/a>) of David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, hanging out with Cenat and stated that it is a recent link-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 10-second video was captioned, \u201cDavido no dey waste time, e don link up with Kai Cenat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A similar video was also shared on Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the video attracted over 333,100 views, 12,000 likes, 823 comments, 678 reports, and 248 bookmarks as of Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going through the comment section, we observed that many users affirm the video\u2019s authenticity, while a few others asked Grok to verify it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOnly Davido would link up with Kai Cenat the moment he lands in Nigeria. This man is down to earth, moves fast, and is actually boosting Nigeria\u2019s image and economy,\u201d @Classic_Wife<\/a> wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another comment by @Dukeofowerri<\/a> reads, “As Tyler collects his Grammy, he rushes to make Peller not collect this one too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The massive engagement generated by the post and Cenat\u2019s recent visit to Nigeria prompted DUBAWA to conduct a fact-check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA <\/strong>took screenshots of the claimant\u2019s video and analysed them using Google’s Reverse Image search. The results led us to similar videos shared on X (here<\/a> and here<\/a>) and on Facebook (here<\/a> and here<\/a> ) in March 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further searches led us to additional TikTok videos uploaded in 2024, as seen here<\/a> and here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA then conducted a keyword search for Cenat meeting Davido in 2024, which led us to a Vanguard<\/a> report published on March 12, 2024. The report detailed that the duo met in Lagos State, and Davido boasted about his wife, Chioma Adeleke\u2019s, cooking skills during his link-up with the American streamer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another outlet, Intel Region,<\/a> reported that Davido linked up with Cenat in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
