 An online blog, Shine Liberia, in a Facebook post, alleged<\/a> that Peter Bonor Jallah has been released from prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter Bonor Jallah, a suspended<\/a> NSA agent who stands accused of sodomizing a teenager, was later sent to jail at the Monrovia Central Prison. The post by the online blog generated 109 likes, 61 comments, and 1 share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, a social media user, Darius Doe<\/a>, posted a short video of Spoon FM CEO, Stanton Witherspoon, making the same claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA decided to conduct a fact-check of the claim as part of its mandate to counter misinformation and disinformation, and to promote truth-telling in public discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our researcher contacted the claimant to request evidence to support the claim, but the claimant refused to respond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researcher also contacted the Ministry of Justice through the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Jutonu Y. Kollie<\/a>, who denied the claim made by the online blog. Jutonu also provided a statement from the Ministry of Justice, clarifying the alleged release of Peter Bonor Jallah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
