A <\/strong>stalwart of the main opposition Congress for Democratic Change, Alvin Wesseh, alleged<\/a> that President Joseph Boakai and his cabinet agreed to demolish the Invincible Sports Park built by former President George Weah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alvin Wesseh is a former<\/a> Assistant Agriculture Minister during the immediate past regime. His post had 167 likes, 84 comments, and 8 shares as of our last check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, several Facebook users and online platforms, including Yekeh Kolubah<\/a>, The Happenings, <\/a>and Liberia Man<\/a>, made the exact claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA decided to conduct a fact-check of the claim as part of its mission to counter misinformation and disinformation and to promote truth-telling in public discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Invincible Sports Park is one of the legacy projects <\/a>of the Weah-led CDC administration. It was built in 2022 amid controversy over its cost and funding source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four years on, it doesn\u2019t appear that the controversy surrounding the Invisible Park will end anytime soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our researcher first contacted the claimant, Alvin Wesseh, to provide evidence to substantiate his claim that the park, the legacy project of the previous government, will be demolished after an agreement was reached in cabinet, but he refused to respond to inquiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
