The incident occurred at the entrance to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and at two local markets\u2014Post Office and Monday Market. Preliminary findings indicate that the attack was carried out by suicide bombers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has departed<\/a> Abuja for London for a state visit hosted by King Charles III to discuss security, trade, and government matters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid this situation, an X user, @iOccupyNigeria<\/a> (archived here<\/a>), shared a post showing United States (US) President Donald Trump\u2019s alleged criticism of Tinubu\u2019s shambolic security management in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe situation in Nigeria is a TOTAL DISASTER. Massive, coordinated suicide bombing tonight in Maiduguri. A hospital, a major market, the post office\u2014 all hit! Many innocent people killed,\u201d part of Trump\u2019s alleged post reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some X users questioned the post\u2019s authenticity, others emphasised President Trump\u2019s alleged sentiments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBAWA checked Trump\u2019s official account on Truth Social, @realDonaldTrump<\/a>, where he shares his opinion on issues and updates about his actions. We found no related post or comment about the Maiduguri bomb blast, contrary to the Facebook user\u2019s claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also noticed that the viral post has only a single red verification tick. However, Trump\u2019s original posts on Truth Social have a red verification tick and a Truth Social icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
