More so, the\u00a0 Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/tribuneonlineng.com\/presidency-announces-adesina-shehu-akande-others-reappointment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a> puts the whole issue to bed; and as such it should be disregarded!<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>FULL TEXT:<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Tuesday, August 22, 2019, the story on the president firing his media aides was circulated by a number of blogs not limited to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/9jaflaver.com\/buhari-sacks-lauretta-onochie-bashir-ahmad-reappoints-adesina-shehu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">9jaflaver<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gistmania.com\/talk\/topic,396734.0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gistmania<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/igberetvnews.com\/915398\/breaking-buhari-sacks-lauretta-onochie-bashir-ahmad-reappoints-adesina-shehu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Igberetv<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/5370257\/buhari-sacks-lauretta-onochie-bashir\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nairaland<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 The subjects of the discourse, Bashir Ahmad and Lauretta Onochie, functioned as Personal Assistant to the President on News Media and Personal Assistant to the President on Social Media respectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reacting to the fake news on Twitter, the personal assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmed who was surprised when the news filtered and was tweeted by a blog responded by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/BashirAhmaad\/status\/1163807055112617984\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tweeting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , \u201c Wait, Really?\u201d before the blog took down the post.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>VERIFICATION:<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The news <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/5370257\/buhari-sacks-lauretta-onochie-bashir\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">headline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buhari Sacks Lauretta Onochie, Bashir Ahmad, Reappoints Adesina, Shehu<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> insinuates the former were fired and replaced by the latter.\u00a0 This was not the case. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our findings revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari did not sack any of his media aides, as there was no official report to it and no publication of such by any notable media house in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, when contacted on Tuesday evening, one of the President\u2019s media aides, Mr Bashir Ahmad disclosed to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tribune Online<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the claim was far from the truth and that Presidency will on Wednesday released a statement to that effect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subsequently, the Presidency on Wednesday, did <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tribuneonlineng.com\/presidency-announces-adesina-shehu-akande-others-reappointment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reveal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a press release that it has approved the reappointment of his media aides. Amongst those up for reappointment were\u00a0 Laureta Onochie and Bashir Ahmad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>CONCLUSION:<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The story is obviously false as there are no media reports to corroborate its claims.
