The report credits Major General John Enenche of the Directorate of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), as the source of its story.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Boko Haram is responsible for many attacks in Nigeria, especially in the north.&nbsp; Recently, on the 21st of April, the Defence Headquarters <a href=\"https:\/\/defenceinfo.mil.ng\/armed-forces-of-nigeria-destroys-compounds-housing-boko-haram-terrorists-through-its-air-task-force-of-operation-lafiya-dole-at-bulawa-in-borno-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">informed the public<\/a> of an airstrike on the terrorist group at their base in Borno state. Lafiya Dole, the frontline operational theatre in the campaign against the insurgents, reportedly destroyed the compound housing the terrorists in Sambisa Forest, Borno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Before the operation, there has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanguardngr.com\/2020\/04\/shekau-boko-haram-commanders-reaching-out-to-mediators-for-ceasefire-military\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> of surrender from some members of the sect. According to the military, \u2018Abubakar has been making frantic efforts to seek a soft landing as he prepares to surrender.\u2019\u00a0 Nigerians have also been speaking loudly, advising the military on how to manage the presumed surrender. While the headline of the publication suggests a statement made by Shekau- &#8216;he is ready to surrender&#8217;, the body of the text made inferences riddled with speculations- &#8216;Shekau May soon surrender&#8217;.
