Following the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice’s announcement on July 14, 2026, that criminal proceedings against former President Ernest Bai Koroma had been discontinued, a Facebook post by Salone Political Watch alleged that the former President had abandoned the APC and joined the SLPP (archived here).
The post asserted that Dr Koroma had agreed to join the ruling SLPP, cease all political activities, and instruct APC supporters not to associate with him. The post has generated over 600 likes, 113 comments, and 59 shares in less than 24 hours since it was posted.
