The political leader of the opposition Movement for Progressive Change, Simeon Freeman, has claimed that Lebanon’s population is fewer than 5 million. 

He made the claim during a live appearance on Monday, July 6, 2026, on the PUNCH Breakfast Show.

The claim was made 56 minutes into the programme while criticising the dominance of Lebanese in the Liberian business sector.

The live show generated 24 likes, 11 comments, and 9 shares. The programme was also carried live on Spoon TV Live.

Our researcher contacted the MPC Political leader to provide evidence of his claim, but he has failed to respond to inquiries.
