Following Chelsea Football Club’s 3-0 defeat to Everton, a social media user posted on X (formerly Twitter) under the caption “breaking news,” alleging that Liam Rosenior had been sacked as Chelsea manager.

The post quickly drew attention from football fans, many of whom were already reacting to Chelsea’s recent performances and growing concerns about the club’s form. The timing of the claim, immediately after the defeat, appears to have contributed to its spread, as supporters speculated about possible managerial changes. The post was made across various Meta platforms, including here, here, here, and here.

Given the importance of such information, particularly when it involves a top-tier football club with a global fan base, DUBAWA decided to unearth the truth as part of its mandate to curb misinformation.

Verification

Checks on the official platforms of Chelsea Football Club on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and its Official Club Website showed no announcement regarding the dismissal of Liam Rosenior. The latest post from Chelsea FC on X, after their defeat to Everton, featured Liam Rosenior in a post-match interview, which was a clear indication that he wasn’t sacked after the match.

Further verification on the official Transfermarkt website confirms that Liam Rosenior is the current manager of Chelsea, rendering the claim fundamentally incorrect.

A review of credible sports media outlets, such as BBC Sport and Sky Sports, also found no reports supporting the claim.

Additionally, no reputable football journalist, including Fabrizio Romano, has reported such a development.

Conclusion

The claim that Liam Rosenior has been sacked by Chelsea Football Club is false. There is no official confirmation, nor was there any credible media reporting on Liam’s sacking as Chelsea’s manager.
