Johannes Leijdekker, widely known as ‘Bolle Jos,’ is a wanted Dutch drug trafficker who has reportedly expanded his operations into West Africa, taking advantage of porous borders and weak law enforcement.
His network has been linked to the illicit drug trade across the region, including Sierra Leone.
Recently, a Facebook page named ‘Bakarr Bangs’ published a post alleging that SUMMA Group, a major Turkish construction company actively executing multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects in West Africa, is owned by Leijdekker.
Because this claim could misinform the public and damage commercial reputations, DUBAWA decided to fact-check it.
Verification:
DUBAWA conducted keyword searches and reviewed public corporate filings to verify SUMMA Group’s ownership structure, but found no evidence to support the claim.
Our investigation showed that in 2023, a Turkish construction company, Summa, completed a new 14,000-m (150,000-ft.2) terminal at Freetown International Airport in Sierra Leone, under a $270 million build, operate, and transfer contract with the Sierra Leone government.
According to evidence found here, here, and here, a Turkish construction company, Summa Group, constructed Freetown International Airport.
This evidence also invalidates Bakarr Bangs’s claim.

- The Turkish Company, SUMMA Group, is owned by the Bora Family. It was founded in 1989.
- Established in 1989 in Ankara by Mete Bora, who serves as the Honorary President.
- Selim Bora holds the majority share (approximately 42.41%) and serves as Chairman of the Board. Sinan Bora holds a significant share (approximately 41.22%). Osman Ozkan holds 10%, and Okan Sargin holds 6.37%.
DUBAWA also reached out to the claimant to provide evidence for the claim but refused to produce any evidence directly.
Conclusion
Based on public corporate records and corporate registries, the claim that Dutch drug trafficker Johannes Leijdekker (‘Bolle Jos’) owns SUMMA Group is FALSE. SUMMA Group is a legitimate Turkish company majority-owned and operated by the Bora family.
