On March 12, 2026, a Liberian journalist, O’Neal Roberts, posted a video on Facebook claiming it was an incident that took place in Liberia.

Using his official Facebook page, Journalist Roberts claimed, “This truck was carrying bags of rice and had an accident around the Bong highway, no arrest yet from the Police. The owner of this business is crying Serious loss.”

Verification

Already, there was confusion among commenters about the video’s actual location.  DUBAWA thought it was necessary to ascertain the facts surrounding the video.

To verify this video, the researcher took a still image from the video and ran a Google Reverse Image Search, which revealed several details, including the place (country) the video was made and the date it was originally posted.

The video originated from Conakry, Guinea, and was posted by Thierno Ibrahima Balde on March 10, 2026, at 8:56 PM with the caption “Le malheur des autres constitue le bonheur de certains,” which is translated in English as “The misfortune of others constitutes (or creates) the happiness of some people”

Conclusion 

Journalist Roberts post of a video claiming that a truck carrying bags of rice had an accident on the Bong County highway is not from Liberia. It is from Conakry, Guinea.
