A Facebook user, KD Koon, has alleged that Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph has never presented or cosponsored a bill at the legislature.
“Fourteen years as a lawmaker, Saah Joseph has not put a single instrument on the floor for enactment or cosponsored a bill. Sen Joseph barely speaks in plenary. All he does is go to America, he brings “old old tin neh” and distributes some of it. The rest is used for profit-making (yellow buses).”
The post generated 15 likes and 14 comments. DUBAWA decided to conduct a fact-check as part of our mandate to counter misinformation and disinformation in the public space.
Verification
The researcher contacted the office of Senator Saah Joseph through his Public Relations Officer, Theoggins Cooper, who denied the allegation and, at the same time, provided links to several bills sponsored by the senator.
The first link shows four sponsored bills by Senator Saah Joseph that were passed and sent to the Executive for signing and printing as handbills.

The first among the four bills was the Investment Incentive Agreement between the Republic of Liberia and G5 Plus Liberia Incorporated. The second was the Investment Incentive Agreement between the Republic of Liberia and Dura Plast Liberia Incorporated.
However, several credible media reports, including The New Republic, New Dawn, and Fortune TV, have revealed that in January 2021, Senator Saah Joseph presented a bill to the Liberian Senate’s plenary to make the St. Paul River District a statutory district within Montserrado County.
Conclusion
Based on the Senator’s office’s response and several credible media reports, the claim by KD Koon that Senator Saah Joseph has not presented a bill in the Plenary is false.
