The Joint Special Investigation Team appointed by President Joseph Boakai arrested 3,971 kilograms of cocaine valued at USD 317.68 million in the VOA community, Roberts Field Highway in July, 2026. The raid was carried out a few weeks after the security apparatus seized 237.6 kilograms of cocaine worth over $19 million at the Roberts International Airport.
The fight against drugs continues to intensify as security forces have launched thorough investigations into the matter. In the heat of the investigation, social media influencer Martin K.N. Kollie and some other bloggers have been releasing information about individuals they believe are linked to the drug cartel.
Amongst many posts, Martin accused Police IG Gregory Coleman of receiving gifts from the cartel through Stephene Audrey, a former employee of the Jewel StarFish Foundation, a non-profit entity owned by ex-vice president Jewel Howard-Taylor. In support of Martin’s claim, Yekeh Kolubah’s blog posted images portraying individuals believed to have a link with cartels in the country; among the pictures posted was a photo displaying police IG Coleman and Stephene in a vehicle.
The post generated 1.8k reactions, 496 comments and 189 shares. In the comments section, viewers debated the image’s authenticity. Some insisted it was artificial intelligence, while others believed it was authentic.

As a result of the controversy, DUBAWA decided to fact-check.
Verification
Taking an eye clue, the researcher noticed some characteristics associated with AI-generated images. The subjects in the picture have very smooth skin and clean facial rendering, while the areas around the hands, jewellery, and clothes appear unnatural. The image appeared to be two separate original pictures combined using artificial intelligence software with a prompt.
To verify this, DUBAWA used an artificial intelligence detector, ZeroGPT, to determine whether the image was real or AI-generated. The result shows the probability of AI in the image is 69%, which classifies the image as fake. The AI probability confirms the Researcher’s observation about images created using a prompt.

Based on our findings, the image is AI-generated and therefore fake.
