Misleading! Boakai’s government has not constructed 19 kilometres of Ganta to Saclepea Road

Full Text

It has been over a year since President Joseph Boakai’s United Party-led government assumed office. Since then, Liberians have discussed progress made under the President’s administration.

Outlining the government’s one-year achievements, former Deputy Minister of Commerce Madam Jamima Wolokollie said President Boakai’s government has constructed 19 kilometres of Ganta to Saclepea road.

She said the entire kilometre to be constructed from Ganta to Saclapea is 39, saying, “From Ganta to Saclepea, we have done 19 kilometres of that road.”

Madam Wolokolie can be heard at the 2:17:13 to 2:17:16 of a radio show on OK FM.

DUBAWA verified the truthfulness of the claim made.

Verification

We contacted the Minister of Public Works, Roland Giddings, for verification.

Through a text message, Giddings confirmed that the Ganta to Saclepea road is 39 kilometres, saying, “Weah’s government completed 19 kilometres.”

He added that the remaining 20 kilometres are “expected to be completed by the UP government.”
