The Vice President of the Graduate School of Cuttington University, Dr Rudolph Bropleh, has said that Liberia does not need leaders who are mere talkers but do not take bold actions to transform the country.

Bropleh said many gifted and educated people have led the nation for many years, yet the country is still lagging in development.

He said leaders in other countries across the continent are making some bold decisions to transform their countries, but the same cannot be said about Liberia.

Bropleh said in Liberia, where “only 13% of our roads are paved,” it is high time to do some things differently.

He can be heard at 1:58:58 to 1:59:04 of a nighttime show where he serves as a panellist.

To amplify truth in the information ecosystem, DUBAWA verified Dr Bropleh’s claim.

Verification

DUBAWA contacted the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) to verify the percentage of  Liberia’s total paved roads.

The MPW is the government arm responsible for, among other things, drafting, designing, and supervising construction contracts, and maintaining roads, bridges, and public buildings.
In response via email, the Deputy Minister for Administration, Samuka Dunnoh, said the total road network in Liberia is 13,026.20 kilometers, while the total paved road network is 1,252.87 kilometers.
