Claim: A Facebook user claims that MTN and the Imo State government agreed to switch off the former’s network services in strategic locations on election day.

FINDING: MTN says it has no agreement with the Imo state government to switch off its network in parts of Imo on election day. The network provider says its service “remains fully operational across Nigeria”. We also contacted a special adviser to the Imo state governor, Collins Ughalla, who denied the claim.
