A Facebook page named My Echo posted that Sierra Leonean musician Orbatheh has traveled to the United States of America. The post reads, “Safe flight, Orbatheh on your journey to the USA,” and shows an image of him sitting inside what looks like an aeroplane.
Orbatheh’s real name is Daniel Sesay. He is a popular musician in Makeni, Sierra Leone, known for his energetic songs and influence among young people. He is actively involved in local music activities. Orbatheh is a well-known comedian and musician hailing from Makeni, in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. He gained widespread popularity with his debut song, “My Name na Orbatheh,” which quickly resonated with many across the country.
His journey to fame is inspiring. He transformed from spending nights in scrapyards to performing in prestigious venues and hotels—a story that deeply touched his fans in Makeni. In addition to his comedy and music career, he’s also known by another nickname, Mr. Karant, particularly on social media.
Due to the potential for misinformation in this claim, DUBAWA decided to verify it.

A closer examination of the viral photo reveals signs of artificial manipulation. The aeroplane windows and seats appear unrealistic, with distorted shapes and uneven edges. The background does not resemble a real aircraft cabin, suggesting the image was produced using AI tools.
To verify the claim, DUBAWA contacted Orbatheh’s operations manager, Mr Stuntman. He confirmed that the claim is false. He also stated that the picture was taken in a guesthouse in Kabala, where they had gone for an event. He also confirmed that the man in the photo is a blogger who requested an interview with Orbatheh.
