Claim: An X user shared a clip of Burna Boy apologising to a fan he sent off during his concert in Colorado.

Verdict: False. DUBAWA’s findings indicate that the clip used to portray Burna Boy apologising has been digitally manipulated. The original video shows him discussing his recent album, “No Sign of Weakness.”

Famous afrobeats singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has drawn public criticism after he ordered a sleeping fan out of his concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
The Grammy Award-winning singer was performing when he abruptly stopped and ordered a fan he noticed sleeping outside the arena. The fan, Chaltu Jateny, later came out to say she had been grieving her baby daddy’s demise and sought Burna Boy’s show to escape her sadness.
While the public has dismissed the Last crooner’s behaviour as arrogant and uncultured, his highly anticipated shows have seen low turnout and cancellations, and have earned him a bad reputation.
Amidst this turn of events, an X user, @badmanforex, shared a video showing Burna Boy apologising to Chaltu for sending her away from his concert without asking why she was asleep while he performed.
“To the lady and gentleman I asked to leave my show, I’m truly sorry. I reacted too quickly and did not pause to understand your side,” Burna Boy allegedly said.
As of Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, the video had garnered over 1 million views, 3,600 comments, 3,000 retweets, 11,000 likes, and 4,300 bookmarks.
While some X users stated that the video has been enhanced with the aid of Artificial Intelligence, a few commended the singer for allegedly apologising.
“AI is getting scary these days,” @badmanforex stated.
“AI is becoming dangerous these days,” @yate abr3 commented.
“Burna Boy apologising to the lady he previously removed from his show is a big step, and it shows the power of humility, accountability, and reflection,” @seduction_soul wrote.
Due to the controversy surrounding the issue and some X users’ belief in the video, DUBAWA decided to verify the clip’s authenticity to prevent the spread of disinformation.
Verification
DUBAWA noticed that in the clip, Burna Boy references his apology to a “lady and gentleman,” which is odd, because a credible news report details that the Last Last singer ordered only a lady out of the hall because she was asleep during his performance.
We also noticed that as the 34-year-old rendered his alleged apology, his countenance was not focused, and his facial expression was not in sync with his utterances. It was almost as if he were absent-minded while talking.
We took a keyframe of the video clip and subjected it to Google Reverse Image Search. We found a similar video clip shared on YouTube by China Global Television Network (CGTN) Africa, in which the Grammy Award-winning artist discussed his recent album, “No Sign of Weakness,” before its release. He discussed how the album title reflects his resilience throughout his career and offered insights into how Africa can address its multifaceted problems.
DUBAWA subjected the video clip to Attestiv, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-detecting tool. The tool showed that the clip exhibits notable lip replacement, face replacement, and AI influence.

We also subjected the video to another AI video-detecting tool, ISFAKEAI, and it detected AI content in the video.

We also did not find any credible media outlet that reported the said apology.
Conclusion
DUBAWA analysis shows that the video has been digitally manipulated. The claim is therefore false.
