Verdict: Misleading! The footage does not show terrorists exporting mined minerals from Turkish aircraft. The aircraft is Russian, and the video is from Sudan.

An X user, JezebelReborn, posted on June 3, 2026, shared a video allegedly of terrorists using Turkish aircraft to export mined minerals out of the country.
The footage (Archived here) shows an aircraft with men in military uniforms running towards it, while others try to lift heavy sacks.
“VIDEO: Fulani terrorists seen moving/exporting mined minerals out of the country through a Turkish aircraft. Why is the government not doing anything?” the post’s caption reads.
The post, as of June 4, 2026, has attracted over 78,500 views, 683 comments, 4,100 reposts, 5,700 reactions and 1,400 bookmarks. Several users commented differently under the post.
An X user, Balogun Joseph (@balogin) wrote, “Jail dey hungry una because of Elon Musk money. Be sharing a fake video that is not in Nigeria. You are not invisible.”
“This is why Gumi said the federal government should seek support from the Turkish government, which we know joined in sponsoring terrorism. Global, guess what the government of Tinubu went ahead to seek help there,” Omenka (@C_Omenka) commented.
Another user, Emeka Ezeanya (@EmekaEzeanya), wrote, “Fulani terrorists openly loading our minerals into foreign choppers and flying them out, and we have a Government. This is how they bleed Nigeria dry while the citizens dey suffer. In 2027, we will reset this nonsense.”
The claim had also gone viral on Facebook here, here, here, here, here, and here.
Due to controversial comments under the post and the claim’s virality, DUBAWA decided to verify it.
Verification
DUBAWA subjected the video clip to the InVid Video verification tool by extracting keyframes and conducting Reverse Image Searches. The search showed that the video is not from Nigeria.
It led us to a Tell Magazine article, which revealed that the men in the video were wearing Chadian military uniforms. The magazine provided no further details.
We submitted the “RA-25659” number that is boldly written on the plane through Russiaplanes.net and found the following: Mil Mi-8MTV-1 Registration Number: RA-25659.

We used Google Translate to understand the details explained here. The translation revealed that the aircraft was manufactured on December 30, 1981 and had its maiden flight in 1981.
The details also revealed that the aircraft was manufactured by Kazan Helicopter Plant, a plant that serves the Russian Aviation industry. The aircraft had the factory number: 93219, and serial number: 32-19.
The details revealed that the aircraft, which had been “In Service” since 1988, had been operated by an unknown airline since July 18, 2017.
“As of 1988, 280 OVPs were in operation (Kandahar). Based on Resolution No. 799 of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 11, 2001, it was transferred to the Kazarnauly export State Enterprise for subsequent sale. UNO-755 Sudan,” The comments under the description table translate to.
Conclusion
The claim that terrorists were moving out minerals through Turkish aircraft is misleading. Evidence available shows that the aircraft belongs to Russia.
