Claim: An X user shared a video clip of Tinubu telling the public to disregard whatever Trump is plotting.

Verdict: False. Careful analysis of the video clip reveals that it contains traces of AI properties. Credible media outlets also reported that Tinubu resolved to diplomatically work with other countries to address insecurity and end terrorism in Nigeria.

Early in November 2025, the United States president, Donald Trump, ordered the United States military to prepare for a possible war in Nigeria against Islamic extremists who had killed tens of thousands of Christians in Nigeria.
Passionate discussions arose about the large killings of Christians in Nigeria, which attracted members of the international community, including the US. Trump declared Nigeria a “Country of particular concern” for the gross violation of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
An X user, @igifechukwu, shared a video allegedly of a live broadcast of Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, telling the public not to express anxiety over whatever Trump plans to do.
“No fear of whatever Trump is doing,” Tinubu commented on a live broadcast.
In a reaction, Trump spoke down to the Nigerian president, dismissing him as a mediocre leader, and was disappointed at Nigerians for electing him as Nigeria’s president.
“Please turn off this television. I’m tired of listening to this man. He is not making any sense at all. Honestly, I’m very disappointed with Nigerians for voting such a clueless man as their president,” Trump allegedly retorted.
As of Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2025, the post has attracted over 311,000 views, 293 comments, 1,000 retweets, 1,900 likes, and 748 bookmarks.
While a few other X users believed the content of the video, others dismissed it as an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced video.
“We didn’t vote for him, oh…” @moffyde4u commented.
“What a sad story,” @OEhimuan60540 wrote.
“This is AI now,” @adelacuna001 disagreed with the post.
Due to the ongoing conversation about the issue and the relationship between the US and Nigeria, DUBAWA decided to verify the authenticity of the post.
Verification
DUBAWA subjected the video clip to an AI-detecting tool, Attestiv, which carefully indicated many areas of lip replacement, face replacement, and AI-modified parts in the video clip.

We also subjected the video clip to Deepware, another AI-detecting tool, which evaluated the video clip as “suspicious.” It revealed that the amount of non-deepfake properties in the video is only 50 per cent.

We checked news outlets for Tinubu’s public reaction to Trump’s threat of military invasion. We found an Arise News television broadcast (3:05-3:44) shared on Nov. 8, 2025, that shows Tinubu promising to engage the world diplomatically and end terrorism in Nigeria.
“The task ahead is a mess. We are engaging the world diplomatically. And we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism in this country,” President Tinubu said.
“The task ahead is a mess, but it’s our resolve to move forward with unity and purpose, guided by a renewed hope agenda to build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria,” The president further asserted
Daily Trust also reported a similar development.
There are no credible media reports of Tinubu dismissing Trump’s military invasion threats or Trump deriding the Nigerian president for his alleged incompetence.
Conclusion
Careful analysis reveals that the video was AI-manipulated. Credible media outlets also reported that Tinubu promised to work with the rest of the world and end terrorism in Nigeria. The claim is therefore false.
