A Facebook page, Funny Belinda, has deleted a post that the Nigerian Afrobeat artist Burna Boy met with United States (US) President Donald Trump after DUBAWA’s fact-check

Amidst the insecurity in Nigeria, the Facebook page posted four images on April 1, 2026 (archived here) claiming that Burna Boy met Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, at the White House to discuss insecurity in Nigeria.

While one image shows Burna Boy walking through the White House corridors, another shows him sitting at a conference table with Trump and his wife.

The third image shows him shaking hands with Trump, while the fourth image features him holding a Nigerian flag with the inscription: “STOP THE KILLING IN NIGERIA, MR. PRESIDENT.”

The post generated significant engagement with several users celebrating the supposed meeting, while others questioned the authenticity of the photos.

DUBAWA’s findings revealed that the four images were AI-generated and contained deepfake and face manipulation. We also did not find any posts by Burna Boy’s official social media accounts on the said visit to the White House.

A few weeks after publishing the fact-check, we checked for Funny Belinda’s page and discovered that the post had been deleted.
