Against that backdrop, an X user, @instablog9ja (archived here), claims that the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has awarded Nigeria a qualification spot in the global tournament.

As of Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the claim has attracted 563,000 views, 1,200 comments, 572 retweets, 6,300 likes, and 150 bookmarks.
While some users expressed happiness at the news, others doubted its accuracy.
“This is huge,” @IseetruU wrote.
“Big chances. I hope they use it well this time,” @RealNety commented.
