Claim: A Facebook user, Glory Goodluck, shared a video on April 19, 2026, alleging that terrorists in Northern Nigeria separated Christians from others and flogged them.

Verdict: Misleading. DUBAWA findings indicate that the video is from the 2022 Abuja-Kaduna train abduction, and there is no report or evidence to show the victims were separated by religion.

On April 19, 2026, a Facebook user identified as Glory Goodluck posted a video (archived link here), claiming it showed terrorists separating Christians and flogging them in Northern Nigeria.
The caption accompanying the video reads: “Notice how the terrorist separated Christians and kept flogging them. This is Northern Nigeria, a nation whose president swore to serve and protect.”
As of April 20, 2026, the video had garnered over 3,500 views, more than 880 reshares, over 700 comments, and about 1,300 likes.
Several users reacted to the post with differing opinions. One user, Oduwoga Oluwaseun, wrote, “I should say you are all mad, so you still have time to see that they separated Christians and Muslims. You are part of the problem of this country.”
Another user, Ray Akomor, wrote, “The only way out is revolution; no politician can save this country.”
Harry Duku added, “These murderers are the people Tinubu government is forgiving and reintegrating into our society. What a government?”
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Hesham questioned the claim, asking, “How did you know these people who were beaten are Christians?”
DUBAWA decided to verify the claim due to Nigeria’s fragile security situation and the potential for such content to inflame religious tensions and spread misinformation.
Verification
DUBAWA conducted a reverse image search using key frames from the viral video. We found a longer version of the footage, lasting about five minutes and seven seconds. This video was posted in 2023 by Tawadah HTV with a Hausa caption.
When we translated the caption into English, it read, “How passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train were beaten after being kidnapped.”
Further findings revealed that the same video had been published earlier by SaharaReporters in July 2022 with the headline: “VIDEO: Terrorists Flog Passengers Abducted From Nigeria’s Abuja-Kaduna Train.”
According to the report, the victims in the footage were among passengers abducted during the March 28, 2022, attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train.
DUBAWA also found that Arise TV shared still images from the video in July 2022, reporting that the abducted passengers were tortured by terrorists who also issued threats to government officials.
Conclusion
The claim that the video shows terrorists separating and flogging Christians in Northern Nigeria in April 2026 is misleading. Findings confirm that the footage is from the 2022 Abuja-Kaduna train abduction.
