Claim: A Facebook Page, Sierra Phoenix, posted photos of Osimhen and Nicki Minaj in a Stadium just after the Morocco-Nigeria semi-final match.

Verdict: DUBAWA’s investigation found that the viral photos are AI-generated. Also, there is no evidence that Osimhen and Nicki Minaj shared some moments together after Nigeria’s loss to Morocco.

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, captained Nigeria against Morocco on Wednesday night after Ndidi’s suspension.
Osimhen entered the clash with high expectations, having boasted the tournament’s best scoring record.
Yet, against hosts Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Nigeria struggled to find their attacking rhythm.
The match was tense and cagey, with both sides cancelling each other out over 120 minutes. Morocco dominated possession and created more chances, but Nigeria’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali kept his team alive with crucial saves.
Osimhen, heavily marked throughout, worked tirelessly to inspire his teammates, but opportunities were scarce as they lost to Morocco on penalties.
Two days after that defeat, viral photos of Osimeh and Nicki Minaj were shared online, claiming the duo had taken them just after Nigeria’s defeat.
In Sierra Leone, a Facebook page, Sierra Phoenix, posted viral photos of the striker and Osimeh in a post-match pose.
The claim reads: “Nikki Minaj and Osimhen met in Morocco…Although Nigeria lost, at least he got to meet some beautiful people.”
Similar viral photos were found here, here, and here.
DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim due to its potential to mislead the public.
Verification
Firstly, DUBAWA conducted a Google search and found that the claim had not been reported by any credible media outlet.
Secondly, we subjected the photos to two Al-image detector tools and found that they were generated by Al.
For instance, when we subjected it to Wasitat, the result showed that the photos were generated using Artificial Intelligence.
Our result on NoteGPT, an AI-image detector, also showed that the photos have 76.81% AI-generated content.
Conclusion
Our careful investigation showed that the images were generated by AI, and no evidence was found to confirm that Nicki Minaj and Osimhen posed for photos after Nigeria’s defeat to Morocco.
